personal blog of an amateur writer. welcome!

01:27, it has been three hundred and two days and going since downtime began. No, just feels like it. Epic is down. For the non-healthcare savvy, it’s the predominant form of electronic healthcare record technology that healthcare providers live and die by. Yeah, there’s downtime computers, and there’s supposed to be protocols that we follow. Not to frighten the lay people, but your nightshift nurse who works during a scheduled (bad enough) or unscheduled downtime (way worse) is a little frazzled, more than likely. You’re safe, don’t worry. Stuff will get done. It just ends up getting back charted.

01:34. Nice to have a few minutes off my feet. Haven’t charted crap. I’m tired. The double red-eye grande Ethiopian blend from Starbucks handled marvelously for the front half of the shift. Now, I pivot to Monster. The beast shall be unleashed.

I still need to finish my post about Punta Gorda. It involves tattoos, if that might serve as a teaser. Oooo, aaaaah. Sirius XM is cranking now. The Alt-2K station is giving good vibes at the moment. Whew.

Whoever you are, wherever you are, take a moment and raise a glass or pay some kind of homage to your local healthcare worker. We’re not ok. But it’ll be ok. I think.
